Courses at Nia Natal Academy

Our courses are living, breathing pathways into identity, intellect, culture, creativity, and purpose. We don’t teach to the test or the timeline of an institution. We teach to the whole child — their brilliance, their birth chart, their passions, their readiness, and the futures they’re carrying inside them.

Every class is rooted in culture, clarity, and cosmic understanding. Every teacher is committed to guiding your child with truth, depth, and structure.

Learn About Our Courses

  • The Literary Revolution (ELA) enters Black voices across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, journalism, and screenwriting. Scholars study powerful works from across the Afrikan diaspora while strengthening reading, analysis, and writing skills rooted in identity and purpose.

Nation Builders deepen their mastery of literary elements and refine their composition skills through essays, narratives, poetry, and creative writing designed to prepare them for college-level writing and future careers. Vanguards build strong foundations in comprehension, creativity, and written expression while exploring stories that reflect who they are and who they’re becoming.

  • In this course, our scholars journey across Afrika & Amerikkka to uncover who our ancestors were, how they lived, and the ways they created full, resilient, and uncompromising lives despite the oppressive forces and conditions set against them. This isn’t your typical whitewashed history class; this course tells truths that textbooks have watered down to avoid “offending” the very colonizers who have wreaked (and continue to wreak) havoc on our existence. Here, we examine our resistance, rebellion, innovation, and excellence — not as side notes, but as the heartbeat of our story. Here, our ancestral legacy stands at the center.

  • This course is a journey into African, Indigenous, and global spiritual wisdom. Students explore their inner spirit, intuition, nature, ancestors, astrology, numerology, and world traditions through an Afrocentric lens. Each lesson helps them build a strong spiritual foundation rooted in self-awareness, cultural identity, and connection with the universe. It gives our scholars lifelong tools to understand themselves and make spirit-led, authentic choices in the future.

  • This course examines current events through the lens of media propaganda in the Black community, helping scholars understand how narratives are shaped, manipulated, and weaponized. Students analyze how media is created, how society influences it, and how it in turn feeds back into society. Through hands-on media projects, our youth will rewrite modern narratives from an Afrikan-centered perspective rooted in truth telling, clarity, and liberation.

  • This second-level course builds on Cellular Health & Nutrition by teaching students how to create simple, nourishing meals that support wellness at the cellular level. Scholars learn the “why” behind ingredients, the science of how food fuels the body, and the ancestral principles that guide intentional cooking. While some classes may include cooking demonstrations or optional hands-on practice, participation does not require access to a kitchen. The focus is on helping students understand how to feed themselves and their families with purpose, clarity, and care.

  • This course explores the global Afrikan Diaspora by studying the states, cities, and countries our people have migrated to throughout history. Scholars examine historic and contemporary Black towns, learning how geography, culture, and community shape one another. Students build core skills in map reading, landscapes, bodies of water, and landforms while also studying the migration of Afrikan people across the world. Through an indigenous and holistic lens, we explore traditional cultivation, natural living, and how communities past and present stay connected to the land.Item description

  • This STEM course teaches scholars to see science as a living system that connects the body, the Earth, and the universe. Students explore life science, astronomy, ecology, chemistry, technology, and practical life skills all grounded in ancestral knowledge and modern innovation. Each unit blends cultural wisdom with hands-on learning, helping scholars understand how science shapes their health, environment, and community.

By weaving together observation, cosmic science, African inquiry traditions, engineering, wellness, and economics, this course builds confidence, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving.

  • This focused math lab prepares Nation Builders for the rigor of college-level math and standardized testing. Scholars strengthen algebraic reasoning, problem-solving, data analysis, and quantitative thinking while learning strategies that improve accuracy, confidence, and speed on the SAT.

Through guided practice, breakdowns of common question types, and real test simulations, students develop the skills needed to approach the SAT and future college coursework with clarity and discipline.

  • This course blends foundational math skills with the deeper wisdom of Supreme Mathematics, helping scholars understand numbers not just as equations, but as energetic principles that shape how we think, learn, and move through the world. Students build fluency in core concepts like arithmetic, geometry, and pre-algebra while also exploring the symbolic meaning and spiritual intelligence of numbers. By pairing traditional math practice with the cultural science of numerical energy, scholars develop both strong academic skills and a richer sense of purpose, discipline, and self-knowledge.

  • This advanced course is designed for scholars who completed Entrepreneurship I and are ready to operate as real business owners. In The Legacy Lab, students move from ideas to execution as they learn how to run a business with clarity, strategy, and cultural purpose. They dive into branding, marketing, asset creation, SOP development, finance, investing, and the fundamentals of building strong Black-owned businesses that can stand the test of time. Along the way, guest teachers Black entrepreneurs and industry experts join the class to share lived wisdom and deepen each lesson. This is where our young visionaries begin turning their ventures into legacy.

Assata Shakur once said…

The schools we go to are reflections of the society that created them. Nobody is going to give you the education you need to overthrow them. Nobody is going to teach you your true history, teach you your true heroes, if they know that that knowledge will help set you free.
— Assata Shakur, Assata: An Autobiography

…and that is why Nia Natal Academy exists.

We are the school our children need.
